I moved house recently, from a big 3 bedroomed house to a small 2 bedroomed upstairs flat.

Having half of the square footage in the flat, and no built in storage, we’re finding it hard to unpack because there’s nowhere to put anything. We always intended on buying new wardrobes and cabinets to store things, and we’re also having a major decluttering (check out https://www.ilovefreegle.org/browse) but I still feel like we’re unable to move on because of the multitude of unpacked boxes all over the place.
Tonight, I’ve tried to find my marriage licence to prove that I changed my maiden name to my husband’s name when I got married because for some reason the recruiters need to see proof of my National Insurance number. I can’t find it, it’s still packed in a random box which I no doubt put safe, but now I just can’t locate it. On top of that, I haven’t yet changed my driver’s licence – I just haven’t had the time to do this, and I haven’t had the spare funds to cover the cost of updating it.
We’ve said that next time we move, we’ll do that packing, and only packing things that we are keeping, the rest can be given away or to charity, and someone else can clean the new place, move the boxes and furniture and then clean the old place because it’s just too stressful!
